This small lidded jar was wheel-thrown and sculpted to mimic the character and personality of a pumpkin. Inspired by the whimsical variety of the Blue Jarrahdale Pumpkin. This jar is glazed with a glossy green celadon on the interior and a satin finish on the exterior this piece has lots of variation across its surface.
Made during my time at the Deer Lake Artist-in-Residency at the Shadbolt Centre for the Arts in Burnaby, BC. As an artist-in-residence, this jar was fired in the downdraft soda kiln there.
